Knoxville, TN – Following the successful completion of its Phase I SBIR and completion of Med-San® proof of principle Innovasan has shifted its focus to product development and announced its first product to market will be the Gauntlet™ Disinfection System.

Unlike the Interceptor Waste Treatment System® which incorporates the entire Med-San® process for biological disinfection and organic compound denaturation, the Gauntlet™ Disinfection System is designed solely for continuous flow disinfection of biological contaminants found in fluid medical waste streams and contaminated water. It will incorporate the Med-San® pre-treatment and proprietary ion infusion stages to disinfect fluid medical waste in a continuous flow system. The unit will be compatible with hospitals’ current suction canister collection systems and will allow them to treat their fluid waste before it is discharged with minimal adjustments to their current fluid waste disposal procedures.

“Innovasan is conducting studies optimizing the pre-treatment and ion infusion functionalities for the Gauntlet™ working prototype. Innovasan plans to launch its beta-site development program following completion of the Gauntlet™ working prototype. The beta-site program will distribute 100 pre-production Gauntlet™ units to a minimum of 25 hospitals across the United States,” said Jeff Hubrig Jr., Manager of Business Development.
