When I was a child, my father used to tell me stories about elves. He said they were small, magical creatures who lived in the forest and protected the animals and plants. They were also very mischievous, and loved to play tricks on humans.

One of my favorite stories was about the time an elf played a trick on my father. He was walking through the forest one day when he saw an elf sitting on a rock. The elf was playing a flute, and the music was so beautiful that my father stopped to listen.

As my father listened to the music, he began to feel sleepy. He closed his eyes and soon he was fast asleep. When he woke up, he was back in his own bed. He wondered if he had dreamed the whole thing, but then he saw the elf’s flute lying on the floor.

My father never saw the elf again, but he never forgot the music he had heard. He said it was the most beautiful music he had ever heard in his life.

I’ve always loved my father’s stories about elves, and I’ve always wondered if they were real. Maybe one day I’ll find out for myself.
