I’ve been a fan of Sarah J. Maas’s Throne of Glass series since the first book came out in 2012. I’ve read each book multiple times, and I’m always excited for the next installment. When Empire of Storms was released in hardcover in 2018, I immediately pre-ordered it. I couldn’t wait to read the to the story of Celaena Sardothien, the assassin who became a queen.
I devoured Empire of Storms in a matter of days. It was everything I had hoped for and more. The story was action-packed, the characters were complex and well-developed, and the ending was satisfying. But even though I loved the hardcover edition, I couldn’t help but feel like something was missing.
The hardcover edition of Empire of Storms is beautiful, but it’s also bulky and heavy. It’s not the easiest book to read on the go. I found myself wanting to read it in short bursts, but it was difficult to keep track of the story when I had to put it down for a while.
